Well, this being my first blog post outside of the regular garden up date, I thought that I should write about why I chose to start a blog encouraging young men to work.
First of all, that is what we were made for!
7 Then the Lord God formed the man of dust from the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man became a living creature. 8 And the Lord God planted a garden in Eden, in the east, and there he put the man he had formed.... 15 The Lord God took the man and put him in thegarden of Eden to work it and keep it. --Genesis 2:7-8, 15,)
Secondly, God tells us what happens to those who waste time on things that do not glorify Him.
He who gathers in summer is a prudent son, but he who sleeps in harvest is a son who brings shame.
--Proverbs 10:5)
Slothfulness casts into a deep sleep, and a idle person will suffer hunger.
--Proverbs19:15)
I have noticed that in todays culture young men do their schoolwork and when they are done they can do whatever they want which turns out most of the time to be lying around or playing video games. So, instead of lying around or playing video games ask your parents if there is anything that needs to be done around the house. You could even start your own business. Last year I started my own business named I COR 10:31
So, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God --1 Cor 10:31)
The business started out as a furniture making business and has grown to general carpentry. My point being to find something you like to do and/or what you see the Lord calling you to do and is biblical, then start a business. Pretty soon you will find yourself working and and learning a skill and not lying around wasting time.
